Robert “Bob” Earl Collins, 87, of Chipley, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at his residence surrounded by family and friends.
Bob was born October 27, 1938, to Coy and Ida Dell Taylor Collins. He attended Graceville High School then received certification in Bookkeeping at Tom P. Haney in Panama City, Florida. He married the “love of his life” Bobbie on March 29, 1956. While residing in Panama City, he worked with Lamar Advertising, CFO for Seymour Electric Company, CFO for Southern Elegance operated out of Panama City and Gulfport, Mississippi, during the 1980’s & 90’s, and Manager of Long Beach Ramada Inn in Gulfport, Mississippi. After retirement in 2008, Robert and Bobbie built a home in Chipley. Retirement wasn’t for him, so he went back to work owning and operating A & G Gutter for several years. Bob was an avid fan of Gator football “Go Gators”, Yankee baseball and WWE. And when he could get away from work you would find him with pole in hand, fishing.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 65 years Bobbie Jean Clark Collins.
He is survived by his son Robert “Scott” Collins (Robin), daughter Carol Lynn Zehm (Mark), five grandchildren Chris Zehm, Aly Kennedy, Cody Kennedy, Gracie Collins, Anabelle Collins, four great grandchildren, sister Lettie Bee Craig, brother Coy Collins, Jr. (Linda), a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Celebration of Life was held at 2 p.m. (CDT), Saturday, September 19, 2026, at the Chapel of James & Lipford Funeral Home with Bro. Coy Collins, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Marvin Chapel Cemetery with James & Lipford Funeral Home in Graceville directing.
Family received friends at the funeral home, 1 p.m. until time of the service.
