Marianna Police Report Narcotics Arrest
A Marianna man, Tayron Jennings (46), was taken into custody earlier this week following a tip from a local transportation service. According to police reports, an employee discovered a small bag of cocaine allegedly dropped by Jennings during transport. A subsequent investigation at his residence led to the discovery of additional packaged narcotics and distribution equipment. He faces charges of intent to distribute within a housing authority zone.
Supreme Court Weighs RICO in Former Deputy Case
The Florida Supreme Court is currently reviewing whether racketeering charges should remain against former Jackson County Deputy Zachary Wester. While Wester is already serving a 12.5-year sentence for planting evidence, the high court is deciding if his actions legally qualify as a “criminal enterprise” under the 1970s RICO act. A ruling against the state could potentially lead to a resentencing for the former officer.
